For those who love aquatics and fitness and want to share their passion, STA has introduced an exciting new qualification: the STA Level 2 Award in Aquacise.
Endorsed against the CIMSPA Core Group Exercise Instructor professional standard, this new qualification trains learners to professionally plan and instruct fun, motivating, and inclusive aquacise classes for participants of all abilities.
The STA Level 2 Award in Aquacise is designed for individuals working in the leisure industry or those new to the sector who wish to pursue a career as an aquacise instructor. For swimming teachers and fitness instructors, this qualification can expand their portfolio and open up new income opportunities. Remarkably, no prior experience is required, making this qualification accessible to anyone with a passion for aquatics and fitness who wants to gain professional certification in aquacise instruction.
To make the qualification more accessible, STA offers two online pre-course programs that learners complete before attending the three-day face-to-face course. These programs cover two out of the three units within the qualification and can be completed at the learner's convenience and revisited as needed before attending the course.
Additionally, STA has a process to recognize prior learning for the two pre-course online programs. For instance, if a learner holds a CIMSPA-endorsed Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction / Gym / Exercise to Music qualification and/or STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming / STA Level 2 Award in Aquatic Teaching – Baby and Pre-School, STA will acknowledge prior learning for one or both pre-course programs.
